The design approach

Contractor-led selection meetings benefit from a space where plans, finish samples and practical installation questions can be reviewed together. This proposal uses Marimol Silk as the main floor of a commercial selection center. The floor itself becomes part of the material discussion while remaining quiet enough for wall-mounted sample racks and tabletop presentations.

Layout and circulation

Sample racks occupy the perimeter, a large worktable supports finish comparisons, and an enclosed meeting room provides a setting for focused project discussion. A visible reception point helps visiting clients enter the process without crossing active work surfaces. The tile grid is set out against the sample-wall bases and table axis. An unobstructed path connects entry, display racks and meeting space so materials can be moved without disrupting seated reviews.

Material palette

Pale oak cabinetry, steel framing and neutral work surfaces create a practical architectural palette. Marimol Silk’s subdued gray movement is appropriate to the visual role of a background finish in this proposed setting. Lighting should be selected for useful material comparison and reviewed with physical samples; a render cannot establish color accuracy under the eventual fixtures.

Specification review

Use the selection process to review substrate flatness, adhesive coverage, grout selection, movement accommodation and transition details with the installer. Confirm the current technical submittal rather than treating a product photograph or source-sheet rating as a complete installation specification. Protect the finished floor when moving heavy sample racks.

Intended outcome

The intended result is a professional workspace that links aesthetic choices with buildability discussions. It is a proposed business application, not evidence of a Moss project or procurement decision.
